"So I leant up, slipped Miss Hilly's piece a paper out from under Miss Skeeter's notebook."(Pg. 215). This scene takes place after Skeeter offends Minny and Aibileen wants Minny and Skeeter to realize that they are allies.
The Road Block
"How we know Miss Hilly even gone read it?' Aibileen says, her voice turning high. I hope Miss Leefolt can't hear her. 'Law, we should a thought this through, Minny."(Pg. 474)
"Then she looked at Miss Skeeter, long and heavy. She said, 'Maybe we keep going then. But you stay out a my personal business, you hear?"(Pg. 216). This scene takes place after Minny is convinced after a long time to write the book.
"After the next one, I start counting. Five. Six. Seven. I nod back at them, can say nothing but thank you. Thank you. Yes, thank you, to each one."(Pg. 297). This scene takes place when Skeeter, Aibileen, and Minny finally get the amount of maids that they need to write the book.
This scene takes place after the book comes out when Aibileen and Minny are worried for Aibileen's job when Hilly finds out that the book is about Jackson.
"Where you now, Minny, where's the kids?"(Pg. 514). This scene takes place when Minny and her kids run away from Leroy after he tries to murder Minny.
"I ain't gone kill him, Aibileen. I promise. We gone go stay with Octavia till we find a place a our own."(Pg. 515). This scene is when Minny decides that she has had enough of Leroy and she is going to split up with him and start a new life away from him.
