Storyboard Text

  • The Constitution deserves its spot to represent our government. It includes equal power among three branches, and includes a president to lead the nation.
  • Now wait a minute! There's going to be a new leader? We just had a king! We need a large government that doesn't have the power of one person, but to protect and sustain our rights.
  • The Federalists and Anti-Federalists would agree on The Constitution as the figure of government, but with the addition of The Bill of Rights.
  • Meanwhile in Philadelphia . . .
  • The issue over representing Congress should be proportional to the states' size.
  • Yes!
  • No way! That's not fair for us smaller states to have less representation than you bigger states. We'll be over shadowed.
  • Than how are we going to represent the people? Not by representing Congress with one vote from each state.
  • No!
  • Delegate Roger Sherman's compromise towards representation in Congress would consist of House of Representatives and Senate, which would become known as the Great Compromise.
  • Gentlemen, I have a solution.
