  • Missing 16 Year Old Girl
  • Example 3
  • Old Junior: There's two tribes Black and White or Indian and White.
  • New Junior: The divide is between how people act, not their heiritage!
  • When Arnold transfers schools the white kids at Reardan make fun of him, because he is different and they aren't used to seeing people of color. Them bullying Arnold is how they are showing that they are scared of the change and that their entire life of a white town could change.
  • In addition an article was devoted to a missing white girl. Although at the same time many latina girls went missing, but no article was written for them. The white news source is keeping to their culture, even though there is bigger problems in cultures around them. Their ignorances and inability to help cause even more segregation between cultures.
  • After spending time around white people, who have accepted him; Arnold realizes that the divide between people isn't race as he initially thought. Instead it's divided by how you act. So many people in the novel are scared to go and interact with people of a different culture. When someone actually does they are cast out of the group and made an outcast.
