- act 2, scene 2 Too ambition can be dangerous
- act 2, scene 3 It is not fate, but our own human will that controls us

- Macbeth after everyone else settles to their rooms, he makes his way to King Duncan's room. Hallucinating just from the thought of killing the king, the guilt eating at him.
- act 2, scene 4 Everyone battles good and evil within themselves
- Macbeth reaches the kings chamber and does exactly what Lady Macbeth manipulates him to do.
- act 2, scene 4 5 no matter how much people have they always want more
- So in guilt and shock Macbeth forgets the rest of the plan to plant the knife on the guards and goes back to his room with the bloody daggers.

- The porter remarks a joke, not knowing the details of what is happening inside.
