I chose this scene from my book, "The Perfect Candidate" because it is super important in relation to the plot line. Ariel's death sets up the rest of the story by laying down the foundation of the mystery surrounding her death and the events to come.
The interns head to a bar after work. "Come on guys it'll be fun!" said Zeph.
The friends have a fun time talking, drinking and dancing.
They meet up with a few people from the local university, as well as fellow intern Ariel Lancaster.
They talk and drink throughout the night discussing work and future prospects.
Ariel asks Cameron to speak with her before he leaves. Sometime passes and Cameron forgets to speak with Ariel.
Cameron wakes up the next morning in his apartment. Cameron leaves the room and checks his phone. He had received a text message from Zeph earlier that morning. "Ariel Lancaster is dead". Cameron rushed to turn on the morning news. The reporter spoke softly, "Late last night a drunk driver and a passenger died in a fatal car crash"
