Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie Event
This storyboard does not have a description.
"Mom, what happened to Jeffrey?"
'"Steven, your brother's... really.... sick."' (Page 36),
"Why does it have to be Jeffrey?"
"I feel so sad... why does my baby have to struggle through this?"
"NO, Jeffrey can't be sick!"
"Give me a hug, Steven."
"I know it's hard, Steven. We have to be strong FOR Jeffrey."
Steven discovers Jeffrey's sick, but doesn't know what he's sick with. "I let myself into the house and found my mom. 'Mom, I've been worried all day. Is Jeffrey okay?' 'Steven, your brother's... really.... sick."' (Page 36),
Steven becomes sad when he discovers Jeffrey has cancer, and his mom will be away with him to visit different doctors and hospitals. "My mother began telling me that my baby brother has leukemia." (Page 36). "As she told us this, after Jeffrey was already upstairs in bed, she started to weep. My dad wasn't looking too composed himself. Now I was getting, truthfully, a bit weepy myself." (Page 41).
Steven becomes upset about his brother's situation. "I started crying, but when my mom started coming over to hug me, I ran upstairs for bed. If I had known that this would basically be the last time I'd have both parents paying paying attention to me at once, I probably would have taken the hug." (Page 45).
