  • This is our pal nitrogen he goes through alot everyday to take care of us.
  • When there is any type of precipitation, thats when he sneaks into the soil.
  • First, he makes a new friend named bacteria.
  • All together they form together and make annomia.
  • And another friend named hydrogen.
  • Along the way he makes some new friends called elements. He forms with them so that they can help cells in plants. This is called Nitrogen Fixation.
  • Do you remember ammonia? When we combine it with bacteria and oxygen, it makes something new that plants can eat . Then the animals eat the plants. This is called Nitrification.
  • When the plant or animal passes away, the nitrogen goes back into the ground. Then another bacteria turns it back into ammonia. This is called amonification.
  • Then the process repeats. Lastly, if there is any left over nitrogen, it goes into the air.
