Storyboard Text

  • The pilgrims were forced out of England due to the persecution they had to face. This led their well known journey on the Mayflower.
  • Their trip on the Mayflower began in 1620. After 2 long months on the Mayflower, they reached Cape Cod.
  • The pilgrims signed a compact that soon became known as the Mayflower compact. This compact talked about the reasons for their journey, what they plan to do once reaching their destination, and when they signed which was the 11th of November, 1620.
  • The pilgrims then made a treaty with the Wampanoag tribe. This treaty ensured the pilgrims safety and some fairness.
  • The pilgrims met someone named Squanto, who was apart of the Wampanoag tribe. Squanto helped them by showing them how to plant corn.
  • The first Thanksgiving was a marking/celebration of the pilgrims first harvest. This celebration went on for 3 days. Massasoit and 90 of his men even joined.
