  • The senate declares neutrality in this war. The U.S. will not take sides!
  • As the president, I demand that We give assistance to our friends in Europe who are fighting tyrrany. We will sell them weapons!
  • We declare bankruptcy!
  • The senate passes laws that ban giving assistance to any country currently at war in Europe. This neutralityis backed by Americans
  • If your neighbor's house is on fire, do you charge him money so he can use your hose?
  • FDR, determined to help fight against the axis powers, sells weapons and supplies to Britain under the condition that they must pay cash and transport the goods themselves
  • We support our country!
  • Great Britain runs out of money to pay the U.S. for the guns they are buying.
  • Are those B-17s or are we under attack?
  • FDR steps in and declares the ¨Lend Lease"program. He declares that he will lend supplies to anyone fighting against democracy. This means that he will give support to the British.
  • The U.S. begins to prepare for war. They start a draft and build up their military forces.
  • The suprise bombing of Pearl Harbor left hundreds dead. This was the last straw and was the direct cause of the U.S. joining WWII
