Peak had to go to a court so his punishment for climbing the Woolworth building. His right cheek was probably still on the building during this, but who cares about that? It was decided that Peak's dad, Josh, would get custody of him.
Who's gonna walk us home now?
I really shouldn't have climbed that building
Josh, however, had plans other than what was decided in court. The court said Peak would go to Thailand and go to a school there, but Josh decided he was going with him to a mountain. Mt. Everest, to be exact.
that one there is josh being such a jerk that he can't even sit next to his son on the plane
Josh ended up leaving Peak at a hotel in Kathmandu, Nepal. Here, he met Sun-Jo, who would take him to Zopa, a monk who was going to take both Sun-Jo and Peak to Base Camp at Everest. Josh is a great parent.
Only two root beers, last go!
Zopa followed through with his role and brought Sun- Jo and Peak to base camp. First they had to stop at a shop to replace some gear and some Buddhist temples and monestaries to get food.
Before they got to base camp, the group had to stop at Friendship Bridge. The Chinese soldiers at the bridge searched their entire truck for contraband and took some food. Finally, Peak and everyone else were at Base Camp.
At camp, Holly Angelo showed up (it was all blackmail to prevent her from telling others about Peak climbing Everest) and almost died from screeching too continuously. Josh had to leave Holly at the camp with Peak so he could take some people up, as Holly and Peak were still acclimatizing.
