Zeus, the king of the gods, wanted to have many children, but his wife, Hera, was jealous, so Zeus often went behind her back to see other women. One of the women he fell in love with was Leto, a titan. Hera was furious!
When Leto got pregnant with twins Hera was extra mad, and being the goddess of childbirth, forbid Leto from giving birth and to top that, she sent a snake like creature named Python after her!
Luckily, Poseidon had just raised a island called Delos. First came Apollo who was as handsome as the sun the Artemis, who was beautiful like the moon.
Artemis told her dad, Zeus, she wanted to be a maiden forever. She became the goddess of the mon and the hunt. She had a group of maidens that had to take a oath to join her hunt. She never had male companions other than her brother. Except for her one friend Orion who she later killed.
Apollo became the god of prophecies, the sun, music and poetry. Every morning, he rides across the sky on his golden chariot with his golden horses and light the sky. The people he love often die at his hands or other bad things happen to them.
Though they fight, at the end of the day, the are BSF.
Apollo lives in magnificent sun palace while Artemis prefers to be out in nature.
