  • Benefits Of Crusades
  • We must go to the holy lands.
  • Hundred Years War
  • We must protect France from the English!
  • Joan Of Arc
  • Joan of Arc is leading us to victory.
  • There were many benefits to going on crusades. Most people were peasants, so they would have a chance to start a new life. The peasants would also be away from their lords, so they wouldn't be prosecuted. The people were also promised they would go to heaven if they went on a crusade.
  • The Bubonic Plague
  • Oh no, God's wrath is upon us!
  • The Hundred Years War was a war between England and France for control over the French land. After the king of France died, the king of England tried to claim the land of France as his own because the king of France had no heir. The Hundred Years War caused castles and old weapons to be useless. In the early years of the war, England was winning because of their longbows and cannons.
  • The Magna Carta
  • Joan of Arc was a warrior on the side of France. Joan of Arc was a 17-year-old peasant woman. Joan of Arc led the French armies to many major victories. Joan was captured by the English in 1431. She was convicted of being a witch in an unfair trial. Joan was burned at the stake and became a martyr, encouraging the French. Joan was later pardoned of being a witch and was declared a saint.
  • Growth Of Towns
  • Town life has so many oppurtunities.
  •  The bubonic plague was a terrible plague that killed a third of europe's people. The bubonic plague was also known as the black death. The plague was caused by poor living conditions, poor diet, lack of medicine, and poor sanitation. The plague came from fleas with the plague that rats carried. People believed that the plague was God's punishment, so they did not find out it was from fleas until later on. The plague brought the end of Feudalism. In conclusion, the plague caused major social and economic changes that brought the end of Feudalism.
  • The Magna Carta was a Bill of Rights created by King John. THe Magna Carta was one of two charters made to stop the Barons from rebelling. Magna Carta means "Great Charter" and it was called that because the other charter was much smaller than the Magna Carta. The Magna Carta was reissued three times and became celebrated later as freedom from oppression. The Magna Carta was the first written constitution in Europe.
  • The plague and war that rendered castles useless forced people to move into towns. The growth of towns and trade brought the middle ages to an end. Towns grew because manor systems fell apart. The king was able to tax people who lived in towns directly. Towns allowed high-class merchants (burghers) to become governing officials. Towns also allowed craftsman to to join together to make guilds.
