- Prince siddhartha was born around 563 BCE, His mom knew he was born to either be a Great ruler, or a great spiritual leader. His dad was determined to make sure he was a ruler.
- The king (Prince siddhartha's dad) Made sure that he had a royalty lifestyle. So prince siddartha spent most of his childhood living like royalty.

- he is going to be a great ruler

- Siddartha had a wife, and a kid when he left. He was looking to be enlightened. He asked all kinds of different people from around the world, but no one had a satisfying answer. He kept circling the globe until he found a big fig tree
- Siddhartha first stepped outside when he was 21, and he saw suffering. He was determined to find how to be happy, when there is so much suffering in the world.

- THE FOUR NOBLE TRUTHS:
- DUKKHA (We are all suffering in life because we want)
- SUMUDAYA (Understanding that wanting is suffering, and wanting is temporary)
- NIRODHA (By stopping DUKKHA, you can reach nirvana)
- Siddartha Sat down next to the big fig tree, and meditated. For 49 days. At the end of the forty nineth day. Siddartha stood up and he was enlightened. He then came up with the four noble truths, which was how to be happy with suffering in the world.
