The Tennis Court Oath is actually pretty funny. On June 20, Estate-Generals met up but had to gather on a tennis court. The reason for this is because they were locked out of the meeting place. There they made an oath never to separate until a constitution was made for France.
On July 20, 1789 a prison called the Bastille. It was attacked by a mob angry about how they were treated. The prison later became a symbol of the monarchy's dictatorial rule, and the event became one of the defining moments in the Revolution that followed.
