The bullied kids email has inspired Representative Jones to create a bill resolving this issue. The bill is sent to the Bill Drafting Division to write the bill in legal language per request of Rep. Jones.
Dear Representative Jones, I am Billy from West Carteret and as of recently I have been getting bullied. It really gets to me and I cant handle it anymore. I would really appreciate it if you could do something about it.
The bill is introduced by Representative Jones to the entire House of N.C. Representatives. The bill has passed its first reading.
I think the bill needs to have amendments.
The speaker of the House has assigned this bill to the Committee of Speech. They decide if the bill passes committee. They research the effects of the bill to see if changes need to be made.
The majority of the group thinks this is a good bill.It passes to the committee.
I disagree with this bill completely!
It now goes to the entire general assembly. Also anyone can debate on a bill. If it passes the full house then it goes to the other chamber to be sent to committee by the Chair of the Rules and Operations of the Senate Committee. It then goes to full senate.
We say yes!
When finished, both floors vote on the new bill. It may be approved by a majority vote or rejected.
We agree with the amendments made by the house.
An approved bill is then sent to the President. He may either veto (reject) the bill or sign it into a law.
