Storyboard Text

  • I think that votes should be based on the size of population. That way, the big states can get more votes, and have more of a say in the government as they should with a big population.
  • I think that votes should be equal for every state, no matter the population. That way, the small states have more of a vote, and everyone is more equal in the say of the government, even if they don`t have a large population.
  • To compromise, we will have a bicameral legislature. The House of Representatives will be proportional to population so the larger populous states are happy. The Senate will have two representatives per state so the smaller populous states are happy.
  • I think that slaves should count for representatives, but not for taxes. The slave trade should also continue forever. That way, slave states can get more slaves and representatives, but not be taxed as much.
  • I think that slaves should not count for representatives, but they should for taxes. The slave trade should be stopped. That way, free states, or states with a small amount of slaves will not be taxed as much as big slave states, and the horrid slave trade will not continue.
  • To compromise, the slaves will count as 3/5 a free white person for both taxes and representatives to please both slave and free states. To settle the slave trade, it will continue for 20 more years, then be stopped forever because by then, there should be enough slaves to reproduce and continue working on their own.
