  • The tone in "The Scarlet Ibis" is depressing. The main characther is recalling his little brother death. He feels guilty because the death of his brother is his fault. An example is at the end when Doodles brother lays Doodle over him and cries
  • Style
  • The word choice in The Scarlet Ibis describes the death and gruesome of the story line. Some examples include the words rotting, grave yard, bleeding, dead, and not born. 
  • Theme
  • An example of imangey in the Scarlet of Ibis is when they are describing the bird nest in the tree. 
  • The Style of this novel is to use foreshadowing. An example of when is "summer was dead but autumn was no yet born. " It is foreshadowing because it saying that autumn is dead and so is Doodle.  
  • The theme of the novel is pride because the brother is embarrassed by doodle so he forces him to so much until he dies. the pride of his brother increases with helping his brother and forcing him to be normal.
