  • Steve - Greaser
  • Direct Traits 17, tall, lean, thick hair, Soda's best friend, thinks Ponyboy is a kid.
  • Static or Dynamic Steve is a static character because throughout the book, he stays the same. He and Soda are both the same type of person at the beginnig and end.
  • Indirect Traits Smart, cocky, loves cars, drove anything on wheels.
  • Cherry (Sherri) - Soc
  • Static or Dynamic Cherry is a static character, for the reason that we don't see her very much in this book, and when we do, she's the same sort of person that she was at the beginning.
  • Direct Traits Nicknamed Cherry because of her red hair, 16, Soc.
  • Cool, doesn't like the way Dally acted, appreciates Ponyboy and Johnny.
  • Marcia - Soc
  • Direct Traits Short brown hair, 16 or 17, Soc.
  • Indirect Traits Gave Two-Bit her phone number, friends with Cherry, appreciates Ponyboy and Johnny.
  • Bob (Robert) Sheldon - Soc
  • Direct Traits Proud of his rings, Cherry's boyfriend, black hair, dark eyes, football player, 18, reckless grin.
  • Static or Dynamic Bob is a static character, he is a jerk at the start and a jerk at the end, and while other character paint him in a good light, he as a person didn't change.
  • Indirect Traits Liked to pick fights, ran wild, mean when drunk, sweet when not drunk, friendly when not drunk, gets drunk a lot, wants someone to tell him 'no.'
  • Randy - Soc
  • Static or Dynamic Randy is a dynamic character because he starts out as a person who jumps people with Bob, but after Bob dies, he starts to become a more caring person.
  • Direct Traits Soc, Marcia's (ex) boyfriend, Bob's best friend, doesn't want to fight, thinks Ponyboy's a good guy.
  • Indirect Traits Nice, doesn't like being a Soc, doesn't like the way people think of him.
  • Static or Dynamic Marcia is a static character, she doesn't come around much, and she is talkative when she gets to know somebody, and that stays the same.
