Storyboard Description

in this scene Gus meets Hazel outside after their group therapy session where he starts a conversation. He asks to hang out and she agrees, as the conversation goes on he eventually pulls out a cigarette from a package from his pocket. hazel is immediately repulsed as to why he would even think about it considering their circumstances. she asks him why he would ever do that and starts to get mad at him because cigarettes are cancerous. after a while of her being mad Gus later explained that he never lights them. in a way, justifying his cigarette usage to hazel. He then says, "you put the thing in your mouth that does the killing but never give it the power to, it is a metaphor."
