  • Large States (Virginia)
  • Since us large states have more population, we should have more representation!
  • Small States (New Jersey)
  • That isn't fair! No matter what size the state is, we should all have the same amount of votes!
  • The Great Comprimise
  • Has a bicameral legislature
  • House of Representatives
  • Provided for a bicameral Congress
  • Favored Large States
  • Senates
  • Has a unicameral legislature
  • Favored Small States
  • Large States (Southern States)
  • We don't want our slaves to vote but still count them as part of our population to determine representation in the House of Reps.
  • That doesn't make any sense! Counting slaves as part of your population will only give you guys more of an advantage!
  • Small States (Northern States)
  • 3/5ths of slaves would be counted to determine taxation and to determine representation in the House of Representatives
