  • The times of ancient India is a rather interesting, as I will show you how life was like then, our history, and our religions.
  • India has many geographic features that affected our lifestyles. The Indus, Ganges, and Brahmaputra Rivers.
  • Other physical features, such as the Deccan Plateau, the Eastern and Western Ghats, the Thar Desert, and the Himalaya Mountains are in or near India.
  • Mohenjodaro, one of the Indus Valley Civilizations, was one of the most advanced of it's time. 
  • There are also many signs of how advanced the city was. The city had a sewer system, and stone pieces that seem to 
  • Many artifacts have been found in the city, such as a scale and weights, and a stone statue.
  • Hinduism is the third largest religion in the world, and it all started in India.
  • The religion has many deities, or gods, but it's said that all things were created by one supreme being. they also have many religious texts.
  • Buddhism also has ties with India, but is more widely spread around southern Asia and is not practiced in India as much as it was back then.
  • Buddhism is a religion surrounding the teachings 
  • And for our final topic: The Mauryan Empire! Chandragupta expanded his empire through conquest. Near the end of his life, he gave his power to his grandson, and became an ascetic.
  • The grandson, Ashoka, at first continued the conquest, but after seeing the battlefield, he turned to Buddhism. He then spread Buddhism throughout his empire, and then into other parts of Asia.
