Theseus, Duke of Athens, is to be married to Hippolyta, Queen of The Amazons. Their wedding preparation is interrupted by Egeus because he wants his daughter Hermia to marry Demetrius even though she loves Lysander.
Act 3, Scene 2
All of the young lovers are now in the woods. Puck sees the young lovers and tries to solve the love triangle and accidentally makes lysander fall in love with Helena. While trying to fix this, he ends up making Demetrius fall for Helena too. Both Lysander and Demetrius love Helena and no one loves Hermia.
The craftsmen meet in the woods to rehearse the play. Quince is having problem with his cast and the plays special effects. Puck transforms bottom into a donkey head. The cast runs off because they are scared and confused. Titania wakes up with the spell on her eyes, the first person she sees is Bottom, Titania then falls in love with him.
Puck tells Oberon about Titania falling in love with Bottom. Demetrius finds Hermia in the woods, he thinks that she has killed Lysander. Oberon puts the love juice on Demetrius to fix the problem. All four of them are now n an argument. Puck makes sure everyone is in love with the right people. Titania gives Oberon the young boy.
All of the young lovers now love the right people. Oberon lifts the love spell on Titania so she no longer loves Bottom whose head is changed back to normal. The actors prepare to perform the play.
Theseus and Hippolyta watch the play to be performed in their wedding and dislike it. Lysander and Hermia are in love as are Demetrius and Helena. The fairies watch the play and end with a song as all other characters sleep.
