  • "Auggie your father and I have came up to the conclusion that you are going to be going to school this year, in 6th grade"
  • Auggie was immediately upset, he knew he would get stares, glares, and dirty faces if he went to school. He liked staying home with his mom, dad, big sister, and dog at home. Auggie suffers from mandibulofacial dysostosis, and it has always been hard for him to make friends. He likes to wear his favorite NASA helmet to block out all the stares.
  • Auggie finally decides to go to school, and he is not enjoying it. He is getting stares because he looks different then everyone else. He then finds a friend named "summer" who sits next to him.
  • After a hard year for Auggie he ended up being the the best student he could possibly be, he ended up making tons of friends including Summer, and Jack. He was chosen to be the winner of Henry Ward Beecher medal, which is the metal "whose quiet strength has carried up the most hearts"
