Odysseus and his men land on Kings island of Aeolia. Aeolus gives Odysseus a bag of wind, Odysseus's men thought it was treasure but it wasn't. When Odysseus men open the bag the evil winds roared up and sent them back to Aeolia.

Odysseus's men go after Circe expect Eurylochus because he's scared of a snare. Circe gave the men food and spiked there drinks. To make them lose their desire for home, she turned them into pigs.

Eurylochus went to tell Odysseus what happened. God Hermes give Odysseus a plant called a moly to weaken Circe's powers.

She frees the men but persuades Odysseus to stay for many seasons. Odysseus has to go to the land of the Dead to seek wisdom from the blind prophet named Teiresias.
Odysseus sacrifices a black lamb and a ewe. The blind prophet Teiresias appears and tells Odysseus that anguish lies ahead because the sea god Poseidon has rancor towards him because of what Odysseus did to Polphemus's eye.
Teiresias also tells Odysseus to avoid the kine when he see's Helios. Teiresias says Odysseus will be the only survivor at the end of the odyssey. Teiresians says that his home will be filled with trouble insolent men eating his livestock as they try to get his woman.
