There once lived a king who lived happy as can be. King Midas was a very rich man and lived a rich life with his daughter, Marygold. There was nothing the king was more fonder than gold.
One day while in his prized treasure room, he came across a shadowy figure towering over the heaps of gold. A stranger appeared to Midas and granted him the wish of the gold touch.
The following morning like the stranger had said, Midas was granted the gold touch. Midas put his new gift to the test and touched every individual flower in his garden and were all immediately turned to solid gold.
At breakfast Midas was happy to see Marygold and tell her about his new gift but when he bent down to giver her a kiss on the fore head, she underwent a transformation. Midas had lost the one true thing he cared for.
Midas realized that the love of his daughter was worth more than all the gold in the world. The stranger appeared to Midas once more and instructed him to fill a vase with water, and pour it on what he wished to transform back.
Midas quickly did as the stranger told him to, and poured the water on Marygold. She was instantly turned back to normal and the curse of the goldtouch had been reversed.
