David Crockett was born in Greene County, Tennessee, on August 17, 1786. In his family, he was the fifth of nine children. His parents are John and Rebecca Crockett.
Home, sweet home!
Davids father had taught him how to shoot a rifle when he was only 8 years of age. Also at age 13 his father insisted on enrolling David in school
A while later, David ran away from home and spent about two years wandering around. A little before he turned sixteen, David returned back home and began to help work off all of his fathers debt. He was married to Mary Finley just right before he turned the age of twenty. They had three kids, two sons and a daughter. Later on, David married Elizabeth Patton, and had two children with her as well.
Between 1813 and 1815, David Crockett was listed with three different sergeants in the Creek Indian War. After many years of fighting, David eventually returned home in Tennessee.
Between 1821 and 1835, David Crockett was involved in politics. He was a member of congress, especially a representative. After he lost the 1835 congressional election, David decided to join the fight in the Texas Revolution.
On March 6, 1836, David Crockett was believed to be killed at the battle of the Alamo in San Antonio, Texas.
