  • The Greeks hid in a wooden horse to attack the Trojans.

  • Ulysses' three ships were at the mercy of the wind, and they were weighed down by loot.
  • Chapter 5: The Cyclops Cave
  • After the Ciconians fled from Ulysses and his men, they came back to take revenge on them
  • Chapter 6: Keeper of the Winds
  • They fell asleep eating lotuses; Ulysses realized what was happening and dragged them to the ship. 
  • All Ulysses could see, in every direction, were cyclops. They had blinded Polyphemus, the king cyclops, and as they boarded their ship, Polyphemus threw boulders at Ulysses' men, barely missing them. But what Ulysses and his men didn't know was that Polyphemus was Poseidon's son and was asking his father to take revenge on Ulysses as they left.
  • Jealousy is a hunter. Before they left Aeolus' island, Aeolus gave Ulysses a bag of wind to keep them safe on their journey home but, Ulysses needed to keep it safe. Ulysses guarded the bag the entire journey, but when they were close to Ithica, their home, Ulysses took a little nap. His men thought he was keeping a bag of lott all to himself and they opened it relaeasing the wind to push them all the way back to Aeolus' island. Ulysses begged Aeolus to help them get home, but Aeolus refused to help them and sent them away from his island.
