  • The setting is in olden times at the old man's house. The characters are the narrator, the old man, and the police officers.
  • Climax
  • The narrator wants to kill the old man, because he can't stand his vulture eye.
  • Falling Action
  • The narrator takes care of the old man and watches him sleep for seven nights. While doing this, he decides he wants to kill the old man for his eye.
  • Resolution
  • On the eighth night, the narrator murders the old man.
  • After the old man is killed,the narrator hides the body parts in the floor boards. The police come to the house, but the narrator invites them like nothing is wrong.
  • The narrator hears his own heartbeat and it drives him mad. As he notices the police not doing anything, he thinks they are mocking him, so he confesses to killing the old man.
