  • I doubt this is true.
  • wow what is that?
  • I wish for 200 pounds
  • I bet it will end up in your bed.
  • Hopefully this works.
  • Why does Herbert have to die?
  • What happened to my Herbert?
  • I am sorry for your lose, but here is your 200 pounds.
  • The Sergeant major showed the Whites the monkeys paw and said it was magic. Mr. White told sergeant major he could keep the paw. Sergeant told him wish for something senseable, but he would be smart if he burned the paw. 
  • He's been dead for 10 days.
  • Wish!!!
  • The Whites were very doubtful about the monkeys paw. There son Herbert told his dad to wish for 200 pounds. They didn't think anything bad would happen. Then there son went to work.
  • I can't open the door!
  • An old man tells bad news to the Whites about there son. The old man said he was hurt badly but wasn't in anymore pain. The Whites both knew what to think and were longing there son. The old man then gave the White's 200 pounds.
  • Mrs. White commanded Mr. White to wish there son alive again. Mr. White was unsure about the wish but he took the risk. They laid on the bed waiting until they heard knocks at the door. Mr. White tried to stop her but she wanted her boy alive again. 
  • Mr. White still had another wish to grant. While Mrs. White was struggling to get the door open, Mr. White was making his final wish. He granted his wish, everything stopped but the loud echoing of the loud noises. His wife left sad and disappointed, but safe.
  • I wish for him to go away.
  • The theme of the story is be careful what you wish for, and don't take anything for granted.
  • I told you there was consequences. No one can skip fate.
