  • In a City on a quiet street, there lived an old man with a young apprentice.  The old man had had a very unusually large eye, and the young apprentice could not stand the eye and the once quiet street was quiet no more.
  • the cold blue eye horrified the young apprentice. The stare seemed to look right through him, sending chills through his spine. Fear turned to a deep anger for not the old man but for the eye that sat upon his head.  He knew what he needed to do.
  • Thump
  • For eight nights the apprentice would ever so quietly open the door, make very sure not to wake the old man. Then he would take a lantern and shine a single beam across the old man's eye. Then he would slowly walk out, and close the door behind him. He was never nicer to that old man the week before he died.
  • On the eight night, he did not come in quiet like he usually does. There was no need, for this would be the old man's last night.   The old man screamed in terror as the young apprentice killed him. After the old man was dead the apprentice quietly hid the body under some floorboards
  • The next day the police arrived reported with screaming noises coming from inside the house the night before. The apprentice had nothing to fear, but deep inside he felt a deep guilt growing inside of him. However he tried to put on the best smile he could. As the time went on though he began to hear this loud thumping noise. It progressed to a point where it was all he could hear. It became so intense that he couldn't think or feel any more and the police seemed to be completely blind to it. He was sobbing, yelling, and cursing but the police still did nothing. He couldn't take it no more a tore the floorboards up and confessed to the police.
  • Thump
  • He was sentenced to lifetime in jail.  There the eye still haunted his mind and with it was the endless constant thumping of the old manś heart.
