I'm Elie Wiesel, I live in the village of Sighet, Romania and I'm 12 years old
One day I met a man named Moishe the Beadle, he taught me all about Kabbalah.
Moishe told me about the horrors he faced at the hands of the Germans, and tried telling everyone else, but no one believed him. Eventually everyone did when German soldiers started showing up.
Eventually everyone in my village was sent to a concentration camp called Birkenau. I had to say goodbye to my sister and mother. At that time I didn't know that goodbye was forever.
Luckily, while the Nazis were seperating Males and Females, I managed to stay with my dad.
In Birkenau, there was death all around me and I begin to lose my faith in God's justice.
