The Life-Changing Decision
"Girls we have decided that we are moving to America to live with your Uncle Tio"
The Last Goodbyes
"Goodbye my Argentina home"
So long Argentina
"This place will always be in our hearts"
As Dani and her family continued to struggle keeping up with all the payments and food costs, her mother and father decided to take a big step and move to America, hoping for a fresh start. Argentina would always be their home but because of the crisis, staying there was not the best option for the family.
Soon to be an Argentian American, Dani finishes the last of her packing before heading to the airport. It was the last time she would step foot in her bedroom, the last time she would brush her teeth in that exact sink, and the last time she would look in her mirror. The place she saw herself grow up in and the home that holds her memories would soon be far out of reach.
I chose this scene because Dani and her family have finally decided to start over in another country. This shows the many difficulties that occurred for the family when living in Argentina, which makes this scene notable to the background of the story. This process of change that the family is going through builds up both the actions and emotions of each character.
