I am Emil. I am 10 years old. I have been traveling for almost a year now. I come from Sudan, but I won’t be in Sudan for much longer, I hope.
I miss home. But I had to leave. If I was drafted, I would now be dead. I have witnessed people losing their lives to this war. I do miss home, but there is nothing that will make me go back now. Before I left my mom told me that as long as the sun comes up you will survive. So every morning as I saw the sun rise it gave me hope that I would survive.
Some of the people my group couldn’t make it. Animals would to attack at night. This splits our group up a lot of the time and we always end up losing at least one.
