  • The American colonies and Britain were on the brink of War. The British Captain was sick of the Bostonians rebelling, so when he heard of Colonial plans, he took his troops from Boston and marched the 20 miles into Concord. 
  • March!
  • But the Patriots in Lexington had heard thanks to their other friends, and they were prepared for battle. At first, they stood their ground and did not let the British past. But, the had to fall back due to short numbers. The British continued to March into Concord, but... 
  • More colonists jumped out of the woods and ATTACKED!!! The British lost many of their soldiers and hurried back to Boston. The Patriots celebrated their first win against the great British Army.
  • And although they had not yet won the war, the colonies knew they would win their independence and freedom if they United together. They inspired many others with their ideas of democracy and equal justice. The American Revolution was still ahead of them, but it started at the battle of Lexington and Concord.
