The noise lasted for several minutes, during which, that I might hearken to it with more satisfaction
Direct: The author tells you the trait of the character (Montressor is happy he bumped into Fortunado.)
EFFECTS ON OTHERS
Presenting him with the wine, he raised it to his lips with a leer.
Throwing the links about his waist, it was but the work of a few seconds to secure it.
Speech: What does the character say? How does the character speak? (Montressor is devious because he pretends to care about Fortunado but he is lying. He doesn't care about Fortunado. He just wants to kill him.)
A black mask of silk and a requelaire
Thoughts: What does the character think about issues? What does the character feel about issues? (Montressor is ruthless/sadistic because he enjoys the suffering of Fortunado.)
Effect on others: How do others respond to the character? what do others think of the character? (Fortunado trusts Montressor especially because of the way he's speaking to him.)
Actions: What does the character do? How does the character behave? (Montressor was absolutely prepared for everything in his plan. From luring Fortunado to even handcuffing him quickly.)
Looks: What does the character look like? How does the character dress? (Montressor is clever with his choice of clothing, knowing that no one will recognize him in such attire.)
