Storyboard Text

  • The Lady, or the Tiger?
  • Exposition
  • Conflict
  • By: Frank R. Stockton
  • Rising Action
  • The semi-barbaric king had an arena built. If you were to open one door, you'd be faced with a beautiful maiden to marry, if you were to open the other, you'd be faced with a ferocious tiger.
  • Climax
  • When the king finds the princess and the commoner together, he sends the boy to the arena to be faced with either a fair maiden, or a gruesome death.
  • Falling Action
  • While some of the people that work for the king set out to find a fair maiden and a ferocious tiger, the princess learns which door holds what.
  • The commoner enters the arena to have his fate be decided.
  • The princess chooses the door that her beloved must open- the door on the right. But, as the reader, we will never know: Did the tiger come out of that door, or did the lady?
