Jamestown a Success 1st period
They colonist settled Jamestown in a swamp for the good farming land, but there is a bunch of mosquitos that carry diseases and there was a Indian tribe that lived near the settlement of Jamestown.
Many people came to Jamestown for gold, but couldn't find any.
John Rolfe brought tobacco to Jamestown and now everybody grows it to make money, then Jamestown became a success.
More people came and settled at this successful colony and England grew richer off of tobacco.
It was surprising that Jamestown was a success because it ran through many bumps on the way there, for example the ran out of food and their water was bad. When they started growing tobacco it save their colony and made people rich.
