Storyboard Text

  • On his wedding day, Orpheus's bride, Eurydice, was bitten by a snake and died. Orpheus ventured into the underworld to see his true love again.
  • Hades was enchanted by Orpheus's song, and he would let Eurydice leave as long as Orpheus trusted she was following him. He wanted to make sure it wasn't a trick, so he turned towards his bride.
  • He lost Eurydice forever, and his sadness overcame him. Orpheus was killed, and now lives in the underworld with his only love.
  • Daedalus was a great inventor who was trapped on Crete. He made wax wings for himself and his son, Icarus, so they could escape.
  • Daedalus warned Icarus not to fly to high or low, or his wings would be damaged. Icarus ignored the warnings, and his wings melted. He plunged into the sea and died.
  • Daedalus flew to land with his son's body. He named the country where his son was buried Icaria. He gave the wings he used to escape as an offering to Apollo.
