I can't believe its the year 3019 and we still remember Genghis Khan!
Genghis Khan was born in Mongolia in 1162 A.D. He was originally named Temujin which meant "finest steel", but later had it changed to Genghis. He had two brothers and a half brother. His father was the person that taught him things like how to fight. His father was also the Khan of that land. At the age of 16 he got married, and had children. But in August 18 he passed away.
Genghis Khan was the founder of the Mongol empire. He brought together people wandering central Asia, and had over 20,000 people fight for him. He worked to unite different tribes of Mongolia under a single government. After he did that he established laws called Yasa. Now it is known the around 8% of Asian men are descendants of Genghis Khan. His grandson was also the first ever emperor of the Yuan Dynasty.
He Conquered a larger and greater population than the Romans did in 4 centuries. He was considered by some people a bloodthirsty tyrant and also a amazing leader because how much he conquered, and how nicely he treated his men. He expanded the Mongol empire by a lot. His grandson (Kublai Khan) defeated China’s Song rulers, and made the Yuan Dynasty, and now about 16 million men in the Mongol empire are descendants of Genghis Khan or his brothers.
