Doctor! Come help! My father injured his thumb with an ax!
I'll be right over. Don't worry, your father will be just fine.
Are you ready to go?
I miss my family.
Why is this pack so heavy? I must keep going.
I run to the Doctor's house to tell him the bad news. I wonder how my family will survive the harsh winters without my father's money for being a voyageur.
it's so cold.
Hold on everybody! These waves aren't going to get any smaller.
My body is still aching from a morning of rowing. I wonder if the rest of my brigade will ever stop mocking me. I can't help but wonder if I made the right decision.
Welcome to Grand Portage everyone!
My brigade decides to portage. I want to carry two packs like the rest of my brigade, but this first one is already making my arms and shoulders throb.
So, are you going to winter over, or go home?
I'm going to head home to see my family.
Lake Superior is very cold. Our canoe is practically flooding as we set out across the middle of Lake Superior.
As we pull up to the trading post, I feel a rush of relief flood through me. After a long journey of hard work, we have finally made it! I can´t imagine a better feeling then the one I have right now.
Though I am not wintering, I am going to sign on again next spring. I am heading home to Lachine to see my family. Being a voyageur has had it's ups and downs, it will be an experience I will never forget. In the end, this journey has been very exciting and tough.
