  • May I have some food, I don't have much of it?
  • SIddhartha Gautama grew up with wealth. The King made sure he was protected from seeing the bad things in life like death, sadness, poor people and illness. The king did this so Siddhartha wouldn't become interested in life and possibly become a Religious Leader

  • Siddhartha started to live a life of a poor person, with very little food and money. He slept under shelter that nature provided. The Hindu Gurus encountered him and thought him the understanding of the cycle of birth, death, and rebirth.
  • One day, Siddhartha Gautama sat under a tree, This tree would soon become known as the Bodhi Tree. This was the tree of knowledge. He meditated under this tree for forty-nine days trying to find the truth. After forty-nine days Siddhartha became The Buddha, the Enlightened one.
  • Buddha started to travel across India to teach people a message of hope and truth. Buddha's purpose was to awaken the world just as he was awakened. He tought people that people could escape the cycle of death and re-birth. Buddha died at age 80 with very wise words.
