  • James I  believed in the Divine Rights of Kings which caused tension between the Parliament and the Monarchy. 
  • The Civil War began in 1642 between the Cavalries or Royalists, supporters of the the king, and the Roundheads, supporters of Parliament.
  • Oliver Cromwell  abolished the monarchy and set up commonwealth. Then beheaded King James.
  • James II fled to France when he realized that he had little support from England, causing the start of the Revolution. 
  • William of Orange and Mary take over, start a new monarchy which is the end of the revolution.
  • The English Bill of Rights were made.
