  • Federalists
  • Federalists wanted to have a strong government and better trade relations
  • didn't give as much power to the individuals
  • this plan government indeed will weaken that of the states but, will make us stronger as a whole
  • we do not want a central authority and don't wanted to be taxed as we were in England
  • Anti-Federalists
  • federalists did not want a strong central authority, but wanted all of the power to go to the states and the individuals meaning that South Carolina as a state would be really strong meaning that South Carolina would be very strong as a state but the complete national government 
  • so they came up with a compromise and added the bill of rights to the constitution South Carolina was effected in a way that their power as a state was taken
  • Compromise (bill of rights)
  • okay so we have compromised that the constitution can be ratified if we add the bill of rights meaning the government will be strong and the right of man will be protected
