Storyboard Text

  • Therefore, I need many baskets of apples.
  • I want to make lots of apple pies. But I seem to have forgotten to buy apples.
  • I like having my apples in specific numbers per basket.
  • Do you have I have 12 baskets of 1 apple, 11 baskets of 2 apples, 10 baskets of 3 apples, 9 baskets of 4 apples, 8 baskets of 5 apples, 7 baskets of 6 apples, 6 baskets of 7 apples, 5 baskets of 8 apples, 4 baskets of 9 apples, 3 baskets of 10 apples, 2 baskets of 11 apples and 1 basket of 12 apples.
  • Hmm...How many apples is that?
  • G is for grouping! E is for exponents! M is for multiplication! D is for division! A is for addition! S is for subtraction!
  • Let me think... 1 + 12 is 13. Wait!? I need to use order of operations! Always remember to use GEMDAS!
  • So therefore I must start with multiplication! 1* 12 =12. 2*11=22. 4 × 9 = 36. 5 × 8 =40. 6 × 7=42.
  • Now, according to GEMDAS I do the addition! 12+22+36+40+42+42+40+39+22+12=364.
  • 7 × 6=42. 8 × 5 = 40. 9 × 4=36.10*3=30.11× 2=22 12× 1=12.
  • Wow! Thanks! Now I know how many apples are in all my apple baskets! I can make my pies!
  • According to my calculations, you need 364 apples!
