  • an annual festival is happening and montresser and fortunato are planning to go and grab the amontillado and decide to head down to the catacombs.
  • falling action
  • montresser and fortunato start there walk towards the amontillado. on there walk they drink wine and chat. but on there way there montresser was planning something evil. from all the times fortunato made fun and picked at montresser he had to think about what to do to get back at him .
  • conflict 
  • as they moved even deeper into the catacombs the air gets more damp. but they have now reached the amontillado. once they reached montersser had his moment and chained fortunato to the cave wall. now that he had him chained upped he had to figure of what to do with him.
  • resolution 
  • as he had chained up fortunato he figured he would build a rock wall to stop him. as hes building fortunato lets out a large scream and it puts montresser on edge. fortunato tries to belive that the whole thing was a joke.and once the wall was finished montresser tried to call out to him but there was no answer. all he heard was the jingling of bells.
  • after all that happened there the conflict was montersser getting picked at by fortunato.
  • and the way montresser ended his torment is he bricked up the wall. but even though he knew he was dead he tried to call out to him but there was no response. all he heard was the jingling of bells. and thats how the story had ended.
