The Townshend Act placed taxes on glass, lead, paint, paper and tea. The people did not like the taxes and protested.

Parliament agreed and passed the Tea Act in 1773, which allowed the British East India Company to sell tea directly to the colonists. On the night of December 16, 1773, colonists disguised as Indian sneaked onto the three tea-filled and dumped over 340 chests onto Boston Haston. This event became known as the Boston Tea Party.
The colonists agree to meet in Philadelphia to discuss what to do for the 1st Continental Congress to the British.
