  • The Stamp Act-1765
  • NO TAX!!
  • Boston Massacre-1770
  • FIRE!
  •  The Proclamation of 1763 was when Britain prohibited colonists from going past the Appalachian Mountains. The reason Britain did not want them doing this was because they were afraid that if the colonists went past the mountains, that they would be attacked by Indians and have to pay more money to keep the colonists out of harms way.
  • The Tea Act/Boston Tea Party-1773
  • No Tea!
  • The stamp Act is a tax that the British government put on the colonists paper items like playing cards and newspapers. The colonists did not like this so they protested and tar and feathered the tax collectors.
  • The Intolerable Acts-1774
  • The Boston Massacre was on March 5th,1770. It started out that the colonists were througing things like snowballs and rocks at the tax collectors, then someone, either a colonist or the British general, yelled fire, and the soldiers shot into the crowd instantly killing 3 people and wounding others.
  • The First Continental Congress-1774
  • We can not stand these Intolerable Acts!
  • The Tea Act was an act passed by the British government to put a tax on tea. This act made the colonists angry causing the Boston Tea Party. The Boston Tea party was when the sons of liberty dressed up as Indians and boarded British ships loaded with tea, and threw the tea into the ocean.
  • The Intolerable Acts were when the British parliament wanted to punish the colonists for the Boston Tea Party, so they made a series of laws that the colonists did not want to follow, some where, Boston harbor was closed until Boston paid for the tea, The Massachusetts Charter was canceled, and  royal officials accused of crimes were sent to Britain for a friendlier trial.
  • These acts are intolerable!
  • The First Continental Congress was when representatives from all of the colonies except for Georgia met up for the first time, and talked about how to resist the Intolerable Acts.
