  • During the Proclamation of 1763, the colonists were not allowed to settle west of the Appalachian Mountains.
  • The Tea Act/Boston Tea Party- 1773
  • Dump all the boxes of tea into the harbor!
  • The Sugar Act made a tax on molasses and sugar. From that, colonists began by smuggling.
  • The Intolerable Acts- 1774
  • What? Why?
  • No more town meetings!
  • At the Boston Massacre, the redcoats shot unarmed colonists, which creates large protests.
  • The First Continental Congress- 1774
  • I'm glad we all were able to come here today, now let's start discussing.
  • The Boston Tea Party was when the colonists went onto the tea ships and dumped all the tea into the Boston Harbor.
  • The British passed Coercive Acts, called Intolerable Acts by the colonists, which meant the Boston Harbor was closed, town meetings ended, and troops were allowed to be housed in colonial houses.
  • The Colonists agreed to meet in Philadelphia to discuss what to do.
