King George III issues Proclamation of 1763 that forces all colonists out of the Ohio River Valley and banishes British settlement west of the Appalachian Mountains.

Prime Minister Grenville proposes the Stamp Act. The act places a tx on every stamp, or seal, when people of the colonies buy paper items.
The colonists must be punished for what they have done!
A fight breaks out between many Bostonians and British troops. A British troop is provoked by a colonist, which leads him to strike the colonist and fire. Many other shots are fired and five men are killed.

On December 16, colonists disguised as Indians sneak onto the three ships that are docked at the Boston Harbor. They dump all of the tea overboard as a form of boycott over the Tea Act.
The new British prime minister, Lord North, is very upset when he hears about the Boston Tea Party. Parliament then decides to punish the colonists for their actions, and passes the Coercive Acts.
On October 5, delegates from 12 of the 13 colonies meet at Carpenter's Hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in response to the "Intolerable Acts".
