Storyboard Text

  • This is a volcano it is spewing lava. The lava will soon turn into an igneous rock. Just wait and watch.
  • See? did I not tell you that our rock will become an Igneous rock? Next, our rock will go through a process called Weathering and Erosion. The rock will be broken down by wind and water to form sediments. This can take hundreds of years, sometimes even more! So don't leave yet!
  • Our igneous rock has turned into sediments. The sediments will be transported and deposited, where they will go through a process called compaction and cementation and will soon turn into a sedimentary rock.
  • Here is our sedimentary rock! After turning into a sedimentary rock, the sedimentary rock will undergo extreme heat and pressure, turning it into a metamorphic rock.
  • Our sedimentary rock was exposed to extreme heat and pressure which changed it to a metamorphic rock!
  • these process can go in any order, all they do is melt and start all over again. The rock cycle is truly intriguing because of all the different things that can occur and change the rock completely!
